WHAT GRABBED YOUR INTEREST IN SOUND FOR TELEVISION & FILM?

When I went to college, I majored in video production. I found out there that I was more drawn to the audio side of things because of the power of sound bringing what was on screen to life. It was the perfect fit because growing up I was/am passionate about music which plays a big role in Sound Design as well.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP THUS FAR?

I’ve enjoyed sitting in on sessions and seeing how people go about their work. Getting to know them is great too!

WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST OR FAVORITE SOUND YOU HAVE EVER HEARD?

I was in a bedroom over a garage and the owner pulled up in his corvette with this big engine. This interesting harmonic rumbling ensued. It was also like 2am and I was half asleep so that might have contributed to the effect.

WHAT IS YOUR GO TO TV SHOW TO BINGE WATCH?

American Dad or Room 104

If you weren’t pursuing a career for sound, what job would you enjoy having?

Studying Buddhist or Hindu philosophy is something I would enjoy.

WHAT GRABBED YOUR INTEREST IN SOUND FOR TELEVISION & FILM?

When I toured Ithaca, I was able to speak with some of the audio professors and they showed me of the projects students work on. Getting to see those projects sparked my interest in how sound can really create the setting and feel of television and film.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP THUS FAR?

My favorite part about the internship has been meeting the people who work here and seeing the processes that they go through to create the audio for the shows they work on.

WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST OR FAVORITE SOUND YOU HAVE EVER HEARD?

One of my favorite sounds is the sound that you get when you walk on freshly fallen snow. There’s just something about the crunch of fresh snow that I love.

WHAT IS YOUR GO TO TV SHOW TO BINGE WATCH?

My go to show to binge watch is probably some crime tv show like Criminal Minds or NCIS just because it something that I can have on in the background.

If you weren’t pursuing a career for sound, what job would you enjoy having?

I think I would enjoy a career in photography or art museum curator.
