Boom Box Post is a boutique post-production sound studio founded on a passion for design. We are just as comfortable designing laser sound effects with the newest synthesizer as we are setting up a microphone to custom-record a new monster vocal. Our sonic toolbox is deep, and with a culture founded on company-wide creativity and direct designer-to-client interaction, we have the ability to aggressively meet every project's needs with speed, passion, and technical ease.

Design-Focused

The first viewing of a new project is always the most exciting, because we immediately start brainstorming how to take the creator’s visual art and not just match it, but elevate it, with a custom-created palette of sound design elements. Boom Box Post's emphasis on the use of new technology as well as traditional recording techniques to facilitate company-wide creativity means we are dedicated to meeting any design demand head on.

World-Class Facility

Our state-of-the-art Burbank, California post-production sound studio opened its doors to clients in early 2022 and continues to be at the forefront of both technology and client amenities. Boom Box Post’s custom-built studio facility features three Atmos mix stages, three 5.1 mix suites, eight sound design/editorial suites, and full client amenities including a custom kitchen, designated client lounge areas for each mix stage, indoor/outdoor dining, and ample parking.

With more than one hundred animated series, features, and shorts under our belt, our experience is expansive. Our dozens of Emmy and MPSE Golden Reel Award nominations and wins firmly seat us as leaders in excellence within our field.

Boom Box Post's staff ranges from our major-studio veteran owners with decades of industry experience to newly graduated apprentices eager to penetrate the trade. This balance keeps our team knowledgeable, creative, focused, and continually excited about designing high-quality sound. An emphasis on group learning, ongoing creative skill development, and sharing our creative processes on our blog help to push our staff to think outside the audio professionals’ usual sonic tool box.

In creative industries where each person brings their own experiences, culture, and perspective to a project, diversity is key. We pride ourselves in maintaining a staff that reflects the varied mosaic of the real world, including a 50/50 ratio of male to female or gender nonconforming individuals. Offering a paid apprenticeship rather than an unpaid internship allows us to hire and train entry-level professionals from all economic backgrounds.
